I stumbled upon this post and am in the exact same situation---moving into a year-ish long rental with my family and want to make it feel warm and comfy and 'us' FAST. Would love to see an update on how it has been going and any advice you have from the other side of the move.
Oh, I love that idea. I will say that my strategy mostly worked - focus on finding big things I needed second-hand and infill with ikea, but I have gone through more re-arranging than I expected and honestly made more progress than I set out to initially. I am in the process of composing some thoughts and images around making a rental home while juggling a kid and two working parents. Stay tuned!
